Do you use YouTube to watch a lot of lecture videos or tutorials? Are you tired of watching a video at standard rate? I know I'm tired of slow moving YouTube videos so I googled how to speed up a you tube video and found this thread on the google forums, http://www.google.com/support/forum/p/youtube/thread?tid=45824b860f3fa998&hl=en.
To speed up you YouTube videos you can use the HTML5 Beta YouTube beta site and you'll get the option to speed up your video. To use the HTML5 trial you have to join (http://www.youtube.com/html5).
I joined the HTML5 trial and you can see in the screen capture above where on the YouTube video I can change speeds. You can also slow down a YouTube video.
The speed options will be extremely useful for those who watch tutorial videos on YouTube. Whether your learning to program or cook the speed control will definitely improve the learning experience.

ReplyDeleteDoesn't work if the video is in a playlist, uses captions, or any other of the 10000 features not in the HTML5 player.
ReplyDeleteI use a playlist downloader to download all episodes instead, then play them back offline with a player that supports speed-up.
(YouTube downloader and KMPlayer).
